Cole Harbour Heritage Farm
Open daily from May 15 through October 15. Off season by appointment, 434-0222
A rural oasis amidst a bustling suburban community the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum is a lone reminder of how the area looked just 40 years ago, when it was a rural farming community. "The Farm" now represents 200 years of the rise and fall of agriculture in Cole Harbour. In season, we feature farm animals, vegetable and flower gardens, including heritage varieties and flowers saved from old Cole Harbour farms, a blacksmith's and woodworking shop, and several other original heritage buildings housing agricultural and household artifacts. The Giles House, relocated to the site in 1976, dates to approximately 1780 and is Cole Harbour's oldest remaining house. The Rose & Kettle Tearoom, situated in the orginal farmhouse, is open during Museum hours serving coffee and goodies, a full lunch menu and afternoon tea. Many of the lunch ingredients are grown in our own garden and farm hens provide fresh eggs for baking.
The Rose and Kettle Tea Room is available for rental for private functions, from room only to fully catered. Call 434-0222 for more information.

Animal Corner
Another Farm season has finished and the barn will soon be quiet once again. The Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society would like to extend special thanks to the Neiforth Farm of Seaforth, the Jeffers Farm of Middle Musquodoboit and ActiveLife Farm of Londonderry for the loan of their livestock and to the many members and friends who help us in the keeping and transporting of animals each year. Together, we keep Cole Harbour in touch with its farming roots.
