The Carriage Shed

The Carriage Shed is the newest building on site. The frame was erected in 1994, in a day, by volunteers taking part in a traditional community barn raising. It is of classic post and beam construction exhibiting mortise and tenon joints little changed from those used years ago in the construction of the Settle Barn. It provides a good example of the type of construction. Sheds of this type were common throughout the Maritimes. It houses several artifacts used in growing and harvesting agricultural crops.
